Our Programs
A clear, structured progression — from fundamentals to confident swimming
Our programs are designed as progressive training pathways, not standalone classes.
Each level builds on the previous one,
and consistent participation is essential for technical development, strength,
and long-term progress in swimming.

Level 1 Foundations
Entry Requirements
-
Comfortable in the water
-
Able to put face in the water
-
Able to swim approximately 5 yards independently
Focus
-
Introduction to all four competitive strokes
(Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Butterfly) -
Proper body position, balance, and breathing control
-
Building confidence swimming independently in deep water
Advancement Goal
To complete Level 1, swimmers should be able to:
-
Swim 50 yards using all four strokes
-
Dive to the bottom of a 6-foot-deep pool and retrieve an object
Meeting these benchmarks qualifies the swimmer for Level 2 placement

Level 2 Skill Development
Entry Requirements
-
Able to swim 50 yards using all four strokes
-
Comfortable diving to the bottom of deep water
Focus
-
Further development and refinement of all four strokes
-
Improved coordination, streamline position, and body alignment
-
Increased swimming distance and endurance
-
Introduction to competitive swimming starts
Advancement Goal
Progression from Level 2 to Level 3 is based on coach evaluation,
taking into account:
-
Technical quality and consistency of stroke mechanics
-
Physical coordination and endurance
-
Overall water comfort and readiness

Level 3 Advanced Technique
Entry Requirements
-
Demonstrated proficiency in all four strokes
-
Readiness confirmed through coach evaluation
Focus
-
Advanced refinement of all four strokes
-
Introduction and development of competitive turns
-
Increased technical demands and swimming volume
-
Exposure to structured training concepts
Goal
To prepare swimmers with the technical foundation,
discipline, and training awareness needed
for a more advanced training environment.

Training Group
The Training Group is designed for swimmers who have mastered
all four strokes and are ready for structured, team-style training.

How Training Works
Training Group sessions take place during regular
Mei’s Typhoons Swim Club (MTSC) practice times.
A dedicated lane is reserved specifically for Training Group swimmers,
allowing them to train alongside a competitive team environment
while receiving appropriate instruction.
Focus
-
Reinforcing technique through repeated, structured practice
-
Building endurance, strength, and water feel
-
Learning swim team training methods, lane discipline, and practice rhythm
Placement
Training Group placement requires coach approval to ensure
that swimmers are technically and physically ready for this setting.

How Progression Works
Advancement between Levels is based on demonstrated skill
and readiness, not time spent in a program.

Coach Mei and Coach Li evaluate:
-
Stroke mechanics and technical control
-
Consistency across distances
-
Comfort and confidence in deep water
-
Ability to apply instruction independently
This approach ensures steady progress
and prevents gaps in foundational skills.

One Philosophy, One Path
Every program at Coach Mei Swim School follows the same principle:
Strong fundamentals first — progress that lasts.
